2019 Annual Seminar and SME Table Top Exhibition, 6 June 2019, Edinburgh
Plans for the upcoming Annual Seminar are now coming together, and we should be able to update this webpage shortly with more details as they are confirmed.
The event will be held at Edinburgh University's "John McIntyre Conference Centre", which is located on the Pollock Halls campus, which is about a mile and a half to the south of the city. This is accessed from Holyrood Park Road, and you can pull the Google Map up from here.
On the same site, there is hotel accommodation in the Masson House and Salisbury Green Hotel and Bistro. There will be a SAMPE Seminar booking rate: we will be announcing booking information in due course.
For those who would prefer cheaper accommondation, because the seminar is taking place during the summer, there will be student study bedroom accommodation availability too. Again, further details about booking will be made available in due course.
Accessibility information for visitors to the John McIntyre Conference Centre is provided here.
Edinburgh is well-connected by train and by air. For those traveling by car, the easiest access is via the A7.
There is a very frequent train service to Edinburgh Waverley from the south, with the journey from London Kings Cross being a little under five hours on average. From the station to the conference venue would be a short taxi ride, or if the weather is good and your luggage not too heavy, a very pleasant half hour walk skirting Holyrood Rark.
Edinburgh Airport is situated about 10 miles to the West of the city. There are direct flights from many British and European cities. For those considering making a long weekend of it after the conference, do consider making a side trip to one of the Islands: Islay, Lewis, Shetland, Orkney, or even to the Faroe Islands. In comparison to the full-price train fare from London, these are a snip!
We do already have a pretty packed programme of talks planned, but we are waiting to finalise the details before we go live. With the expectation that most delegates will travel the night before, and will be staying close by, the programme will probably start somewhat earlier than usual, allowing us to add in one or two extra talks. Full details will be revealed here, when they are ready!
The full details of our generous Seminar Sponsors will be made available here in due course.
If your company would like to be a sponsor, we would be delighted to hear from you!
